Pop The Cork #3: Cork Gets Local
Unfortunately I don’t get the opportunity to get out to concerts all that often anymore (work, school, etc.) but I couldn’t be happier that I made the decision to hit up Real Art Tacoma for The Home Team’s tour kick off. With a stacked Cascadia line up ranging from pop punk to emo, it was right in Cork’s wheelhouse. I have had the opportunity to interview Quieter and The Home Team and knew what I was getting into for the most part, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love the opening act Static from Spanaway. This three piece set is mix of Rage Against The Machine and a little Cage the Elephant with funky bass riffs and vocals that would make Zack de la Rocha proud. It’s gems like Static that keep me going to local shows and get me excited about today’s rock. I can’t wait to see what these guys come up with next! Check out my photos of Static, Glacier Veins from Portland, and Quieter from the show below and let me know what your favorite local band is by hitting me up on twitter @CorkKGRG.
